4th Sector Innovations

I am obsessed with innovation. Not just the buzzwords and shiny stuff that get commercials and headlines, my bias is for the grimy and tough things that often go unseen when people convert creativity into value and impact at scale. I got hooked on innovation while working at The Boeing Company where I was charged with helping find emerging practices and opportunities to enhance the company's rich heritage of innovation so that it could continue to push the boundaries of human achievement for another hundred years. After leaving Boeing I started multiple companies, all of which share a common thread for accessing and advancing innovation and entrepreneurship within for-profit, non-profit, and government organizations. 4th Sector Innovations has garnered most of my attention over the last decade helping organizations establish and enhance their innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities using the 4thSI Integrated Innovation System and Cumulative Value Realization Curve. More recently, we have partnered with universities, cities, and corporations to give more than 100 early-stage teams access to our global InterPhase Incubator and Instantaneous pre-Accelerator programs with no fees and no dilution.

For the last five years, I have become directly involved with the circular economy and am the Innovation Leader of the Circular Supply Chain Network a global group of self-professed supply chain and circular economy geeks dedicated to helping people accelerate the shift from linearity to circularity.

Most of my free time is spent finding new adventures with my wife and three kids, delivering keynotes, being an entrepreneur-in-residence at multiple universities, lecturing and teaching as an adjunct professor, and being an author. I have written extensively about innovation, entrepreneurship, risks opportunities, and the circular economy. The book that I am most proud of creating is Destination Innovation.

My academic background is from the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where I earned my BS and MS in Industrial Engineering. After gaining more than a dozen years of professional experience I obtained an MBA in Entrepreneurship at Pepperdine University.

I believe that innovation and entrepreneurship can elevate human potential and I am committed to helping everyone seeking to produce meaningful value and create the amazing future we all deserve.
