Mark Schaffer

Mark Schaffer is an experienced electronics industry engineer and consultant, providing technical project management with the International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative (iNEMI) since 2011. He supports iNEMI’s sustainability and smart manufacturing projects.  His involvement with iNEMI began in 2006 as a member representative from Dell participating in the consortium’s environmental Technology Integration Group (TIG).

Over the past 13 years, he has led dozens of iNEMI collaborative projects with the electronics industry. He was the project manager for iNEMI projects that focused on Metals Recovery and Recycling, Critical Materials Recovery and Reuse technologies for Hard Disk Drives as well as a number of eco-design and life-cycle project efforts to assist the electronics industry in materials recovery as well as more informed and sustainable product design choices.

In addition to his work with iNEMI, he is the owner of, and primary consultant for, Schaffer Environmental LLC, which provides leading supply chain, environmental and sustainability consulting and project management services to organizations around the world.
